I want to block the use of Google Web Accelerator in my company, using KWF. I very much dislike the privacy related issues there are with the GWA, but mostly I do not want the big increase of bandwith usage if people where to install GWA on their computers.

Basicly, I know GWA redirects all the webtraffic of the client to a Google proxy. So simply blocking access to this proxy would do the trick. My user can now only use HTTP and HTTPS, so maybe I am already 'protected'? Or does Google use port 80 for their so called 'service'?

Anybody got more info?

Thank you for your reply, but I am sorry, I do not understand it.

If you say that you cannot use de GWA on the KWF, I know. But I do not want to USE it, I want to BLOCK my desktops from using it. I know I can't block applications perse, just ports and destinations. But GWA connects to Google servers, so knowing which Google servers are used for the GWA would be enough.

On another note: Google seemed to have stopped distributing the GWA, so for now all is good...
