As a freelancer I have my own way of response:

some new customers have asked me for a mailserver because they don't use Outlook and don't need the functions of exchange.

What do you think: Does I have recommend KMS or not?

BTW: Do you know a good Webmail Interface...

I think almost ALL complaints about missing features etc is Kerio + Outlook.. So if you are not planning to use outlook (other than for pop3/imap), you will find KMS to be a very good product I think. The new webmail(s) and web domain admin in 6.1 is very good and fast!

I agree that most issues are with KOC but this doesn't make it any less important for Kerio to fix the problems.

Particularly given that (if it worked well) the V6+ collaborative stuff would be KMS's killer feature.

The web interface (webmail mini mode & webadmin) is vastly improved in 6.1 but IMHO Kerio should have been concentrating on KOC performance & offline caching for the past year...

If you are not using it with the special facilities for Outlook (as I don't), then it is really excellent in nearly every way.

The choice of webmail interfaces (in the up-coming v6.1) means that a choice between speed (with wider compatibility) and richness (in IE) is available, so that there is no reason to use a separate webmail system such as SquirrelMail or Horde IMP as many people did with v6.0.

The gripe that I still have is the lack of some of the IMAP searching options, chiefly search in body, and the fact that the server reports a successful search - rather than admitting that it can't do it (IMAP has a flag for this) which would enable some clients to switch to searching locally.

The backup facilities have also been serious compromised in the v6.1 beta - I hope they realise this and have it sorted for release.

Yes there are a few issues that have been lingering for a while.

IMAP Body search

LDAP Server/Client Compatibility Issues

And I agree that the new 3 times a week max backups is crazy..!!

However for me (& a lot of others) the KOC is a serious problem area still not addressed.

the 3 times backup and the lack of search is a bit disappointing,

but we use Kerio Mailserver on OS X Server with only the webmail client and I have to say that this is a really good solution. It is a good price point and works very well and we don't need anything else for mail and calender in our 10 seat shop.

I guess all the bitching are indeed in combination to the KOC product (which I don't know about since I have no use for it).
