Hi to all:
I've been looking for a replacement for Exchange + Now Software for a while.
My goal is to use default a Tiger installation ( Mail.app + Address Book + iCal) to do Email , shared contact lists and shared calendars.
I don't want to use Entourage , because I find it buggy and expensive (half of our company does not use MS Office and I'm not planning to buy it).

I've installed a demo of Kerio Mail Server 6.1.0:
The mail portion is great and intuitive.

Contacts: I've managed to configure my Apple Address book to do LDAP searches on the Kerio Server , but not every field shows up in the found contacts (IE. The street address of the contact is always missing). Is this a bug or I'm I missing something?

Calendar: any suggestions on using the free/busy calendar with iCal ?
We wouldn't mind using the web to schedule meetings , but we need to have our personal iCal reflecting our schedule so that we can sync it to our Black Berries or Palms. Is this possible?
It's important for us to know if a person or a conference room is busy or not when we schedule a meeting...

Is Kerio the right solution for us?
Thanks in advance.

I have never used it with Mail before, so I would n't know if it could use the Exchange feature or if it would need to be iMap. But I do know that iCal is only read only supported!!!

There is a manual that comes with 6.1, I take it you have looked in there.

mail.app works fine with IMAP.

iCal support is read only or write only from what I gleaned from the manual, not both simultaneously. If it had that, I would be a happy person.

You may take a look at the Communigate Pro product as it _might_ meet your needs better. They seem to be making huge strides in features and capabilities.

Mail.app with IMAP to KMS works fantastic.

iCal support in KMS is really limited at this time.

For contacts, I would suggest hooking your address book to Active Directory or Open Directory, if your enterprise is using one of those directory services. (Kerio LDAP will work just as good, but why maintain two directories if you don't have to?)

Kerio MailServer 6.7.1 w/AD
Windows Server 2003 SP 1
Dell PowerEdge 2850 (Dual Xeon 3.2ghz and 2 GB RAM)
~1300 users
~1000+ concurrent IMAPS connections
iPhone users
Outlook 2007 KOFF users
Apple iCal 10.5/10.6 users
