We are having problems with Mac mail.app decoding messages sent from Outlook with the Kerio connector. If I send without using the connector (via IMAP setup), it is fine. I think I've found the culprit. The connector uses utf-8 charset while the the other uses ISO-8859 (See below). Is there any way to force the connector to use ISO-8859 instead of utf-8? Or does anyone know of another way to resolve this problem? Thanks.

The utf-8 encoded message comes up as this:

{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\fromhtml1 \deff0{\fonttbl
{\f0\fswiss Arial;}
{\f1\fmodern Courier New;}
{\f2\fnil\fcharset2 Symbol;}
{\f3\fmodern\fcharset0 Courier New;}
{\f4\fswiss Arial;}}
{\colortbl\red0\green0\blue0;\red0\green0\blue255;}
\uc1\pard\plain\deftab360 \f0\fs24

etc

Headers from connector and regular IMAP setup:

I just tried this setup and it works fine on my side.

outlook 2003 with all updates
KMS 6.1 running on XP (different box than the workstation above)
Apple Mail 2.0 running on 10.4.2

Check what outlook defaults to for authoring the email.

I don't have a fix, but you can use "apple-option-p" to view the message's plain-text alternative. This cleans the mail up and allows you to read it.

As a follow up, this is now fixed now. It either got fixed in 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. I gave up trying for a couple of releases.

It is fixed? Twisted Evil

According to the bug we have on file it is not fixed yet Smile The workaround is to disble the TNEF Decoder on the Kerio MailServer.

I think this is a different issue. We had this problem long before Kerio added TNEF decoding. Besides, it's working with TNEF encoding enabled on the KMS.
