Hello all,

I'm running KM 6.1.0 w/ McAfee on Redhat 9.

Some users have a need to email files with an .LZH extension back and forth. These files are typically 188kb to 2mb in size.

Occasionally, the user will receive the email with one of the .LZH files stripped, with the message:

"This part of the email could not be checked for viruses:

MIME type: application/octet-stream
File name: Bwrrdata.lzh
File size: 1.89 MB
Error: Object is corrupted
Antivirus: McAfee Scanning Engine (4543/4.4.00)

The attachment was removed by Kerio MailServer..."

We've taken the offending file, and used it in the intended application. It works, it is not corrupted. I've researched the McAfee forums and cannot find a solution there.

Anyone else having similar issues? Are we able to update the McAfee scanning engine ourselves?

Regards,
Warren

Followup:

I've subsequently gone and set the MailServer to prepend a message and to allow the corrupted file through.

I would still like to track this issue and find a cleaner solution.

Thanks,
Warren

Is the file password protected?

You can deny password protected files (because their contents can't be scanned) so maybe this is it?
