hi,

problem:
i want to send a mail with a attachment from tru64 unix. before we migrated to kerio (previously EIMS) the following worked fine:

uuencode /path/to/file attachmentname | mailx -s "Subject" user<_at_>domain.com

now kerio doesn't understand the uuencode format. the mail body now looks like:
begin 755 /path/to/file
M(R`*(R`J*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ
M*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*BHJ*<_at_>HC("H<_at_>("`<_at_>("`<_at_>("`<_at_>("`<_at_>("`<_at_>

... many lines ...

2T%-4D%$7U!R
A:6YT<V5R=F5R"C$Y,BXQ-C<_at_>N,3`P+C$Y-<_at_>D);'`Q,#`*
`
end

question:
how can i send attachments in other ways than uuencode or can i configure kerio to handle uuencoded mails?

system: os x server 10.3.9
kerio: kms 6.0.10
hardware: xserve g5

Any suggestions?

Can't you use some other encoding (such as base64)? Uuencoding is somewhat antiquated...

KMS doesn't use uuencode AFAIK. It uses base64 for enconding attachments.
