Can anyone recommend a low cost and easy-to-obtain certificate?

I host 5 different mail domains on one server.

Do I need a certificate for each mail domain?

Are Thawte and Verisign the only reputable certificate providers? Their cost appear to be very different for the lowest level of certification.

Hints to make the process go easy?
