I can't wait to enable it, but like to know if other are using the Spam Repellent function already and with succes ... or not.
Please share your experiences here!

BTW: Does anyone know if it remembers/caches the servers it has accepted mail from before? So that it won't let it wait a second/third etc time? It's not mentioned in the manual, but I think it's an important way of good functioning and not waste time.

Thanx,
Dr.Bob

All Spam Repellent does is add a delay before responding to the connecting server with a greeting. It doesn't remember or cache anything from what I've seen. It's too simple a method for that.

It's simple, but pretty effective. Many spammers give up after 10 -15 seconds or so. My DNS Blacklist statistics have gone way down, while dropped connections (because of the delay) have gone way up. I haven't had a single problem, or report of a problem due to the spam repellent since turning it on.

An added bonus... we've gotten far fewer incoming viruses (virii?) from incoming mail. Presumably, the virus wants to spread fast, and doesn't wait for the greeting before giving up.
