Hello all,
Recently I took Broadband connection and found this great sw. I installed it in my PC with 2 LAN cards and now having a problem. Say, we 10 friends are on a LAN and wants only 5 computer to connect to internet thorugh my PC where I set up proxy server.
Now anyone can connect setting the proxy server address in the IE. I want to restrict it so that only 5 users can connect and I will define which 5 they will be.
Is it possible in Winroute Firewall?
Plz help me on this.
Thanks in advance.

Create a per user or per PC Traffic Policy and only enable the ones you want to give access at a particular time...

Connect to KWF with the Administration Console. There you have a screen called Traffic Policy, where you can specify all the traffic rules. Who is allowed to use which protocols from which machine to which interface, when, etc.

The rules work from top to bottom. The first rule that 'fits' will be the one applied. So make rules like:

Source: user1 or pc1
Destination: Internet
Service: all (if you want the user to be able to do everything)
Action: Allow
Translation: depends on your setup

Source: user2 or pc2
rest same as above

Source: user3 or pc3
rest same as above

And make the bottom rule:
Source: any
Destination: any
Service: any
Action: DROP

Now any user who's not 'recognized' by the above rule will be blocked by the bottom rule. So by disabling (unchecking) rules you can deny certain users/pc's access.
