I'm a bit confused on how KMS updates the KOC.

How does the KOC update?

I just installed 6.1.1, but the KOC is 6.1 patch 8. Will KMS download and push KOC 6.1.1 to all the clients?

Thanks in advance.

It will, provided you host your webmail on port 80. If you host your webmail on an alternate port, you have to set the alternate port to match in the KOC options within Outlook.

When Outlook is started with the KOC, it checks the web server part of KMS for the update files. If a newer version is found, it downloads and installs it.

And those updates are stored in the:

'C:\Program Files\Kerio\MailServer\webmail\download' Folder?

And pushed when Oulook opens and KMS discovers it is using an older version of the KOC?

No.

There is no 'push' involved!

When Outlook is run it connects via HTTP and checks for a newer KOC in the download folder. If there is a newer file then it downloads it.

More of a 'pull' really!!

It is suggested by Kerio support and confirmed by forum members that it is better to manually update KOC on workstations. For some people this solved a lot of KOC problems.

So, if feasable, I would recommend updating KOC manually.

Since this is an easy process (start the .exe en press next, next, next) you could even let the users do it themselves...

You've never met my users. Can't follow instructions to get their lunch out of a paper bag. ;)
