Hi,

I want to provide my IMAP4 KMS users with an easy but secure way to send out mails using our mailserver, when they are on the road: (i) they have to authenticate in order to use the mailserver for relaying, (ii) I want them to do it using SSL over SMTP.

Kerio tells me the SMTP daemon supports both (SSL or no-SSL) on the same TCP-port, but it doesn't work. All clients are Outlook 2003 (+SP1).

It's not a problem related to my SSL certificate (HTTPS and secure IMAP4 work perfectly). It also works without SMTP over SSL. Enforcing SMTP over SSL, the Outlook 2003 client gets a response that SSL is not supported on the server.

I have an open case (ZXX-63136) with Kerio on this since end september, no clear direction yet on a cause/solution.
Has anyone in the Kerio users community experienced the same problem?

Thanks.
Peter

Hi,

did anyone else experience this problem as well? I can hardly believe I am the only one who has been trying this.

Thanks.
Peter

You're not the only one who's tried SMTPS. It works fine here, and for a number of others. Check your SMTP debug log, and your error/warning logs. If your can connect to get a response from the client, there should be something logged as to why the connection was rejected.
