last week
i try to install kerio mail server 6.1.2 into my server
after install, i open the admin console
i click the "content filter" items, then select the "antivirus"
but i look that"Mcafee engine is fail start!"
why?i think hard,but i can't find any Suspicious thing.
i restart the kerio mail service but the problem still exist.
i restart my server again, and the problem still can't Solves!

i think again, and i Suspects that the Symantec Antivirus .
then i check the symantec log, find that "found a virus:eicar!"

oh,my god!i see.first step, the kerio mail server will generate a test virus name as "eicar" to test the engine is work fine.after it generate, the Symantec Antivirus Realtime Protector kill the virus first,so,the Mcafee antivirus engine can't find the virus,so,the kerio mail server understand the antivirus engine can't work.

you can solves the problem as follow in step:
use the symantec "exclude folder" function, add the Kerio mail server folder to the exclude list
restart the kerio mail service
ok.

Yes, it is well known that you need to add an exclusion rule to your 3rd party antivirus product so that it does not scan the 'store' directory. If it does it will remove the test eicar virus, as you saw and McAfee will be unable to start.
