Hello.

Having a working LDP Print Server (Netgear PS-105) here at the office, I cannot seem to get it to work with the Machine on which Winroute Firewall 5.1.9 is running.

It appears as if the traffic is being filtered or routed incorrectly, though everything else on the LAN can exchange data just fine. There are no log entries about dropped packets, either, I can PING and FTP to and from the Printserver machine perfectly - but I cannot use LPD traffic unless I shut down the Firewall.

Any hints? This is most annoying. I've even tried to open the LAN for all traffic coming and going to the Print Server, but alas, my efforts were to no avail.

Addendum: The problem seems not to really originate from filtered traffic, but instead I suspect that whatever makes the Printer Drivers tick - including the original Netgear Drivers, as well as the Microsoft LPR Drivers (Windows 2000).

The purpose I would need LDP/LPR on the Firewall Host for is the ability to print Logs, etc (just in case someone was wondering).

Other software, including various personal firewalls (which, alas, are not router softwares Crying or Very Sad )seems to not affect the LDP at all.
