Hi all,

I've installed kerio mail server, but after the installation complete and the services in process to load my norton corporate catches a virus called EICAR in the tmp folder in kerio folder. I qurantaine, delete the virus. I check the mcafee anti-virus integrated with kerio doesn't seem to work properly. please let me know wut's goin on?

sorry to tell you this but I need my mail anti-virus to be working without annoying me and i'm still at trial period with kerio and another mail server { not supposed to say about it over here }.

honestly i'm more intrested by Kerio's product

It's not a virus, it's a test file. That's how KMS tells if the anti-virus engines are working. In the case of the integrated McAfee, it doesn't log it as a detection because it's integrated into the mail server and interacts differently with KMS because of that. External anti-virus products will register it as a detection every time the mail server service is started, or each time you change anti-virus settings that require the scanning engine to be re-tested. This is normal and it is how KMS determines that the anti-virus product is working.
