I'm getting ready to FINALLY roll out KMS 6.x, and I'm moving users from our old mail server (running the last version of KMS 5.x). I have set up the new mail server to use our Open Directory server (10.4.4) and activate the users in the directory for KMS.

I know it's also possible to have a local KMS user and have them authenticate with the OD server.

Which is better?

It's taking forever to move everyone's mailboxes from the old server to the new one (via IMAP from old 5.x server to "Exchange" on the new 6.1.2 server through Entourage) -- so would it be easier/faster to move the whole server installation from the old machine, then upgrade from 5.x to 6.1.2? Some users have HUGE mailboxes, and it's really slowing down the deployment moving them via IMAP/Exchange...

Oh yeah, the old KMS box is running OS X 10.3.9, and the new one is running OS X Server 10.4.4, so that may complicate things as well.

Any suggestions?
