HI....some times when I spend time looking for errors into logs, security logs sais something like this:


[14/Feb/2006 21:43:02] Relay attempt from IP address 192.168.156.4, mail from <xxxx<_at_>xxx.xxx> to <yyy<_at_>yyy.yyy> rejected

Why?

This is a valid ip..the senderś mail address is ok an well configurated and running and the domain-sender mail address exists.

In which situations is generated this message?

IP address 192.168.156.4 probably isn't in IP address group for trusted relay hosts or the user did not authenticate in SMTP session. Check your settings in SMTP Server/Relay control.

So this mail is sent from one of your users, right?

Is xxx.xxx configured as domain in your KMS environment?

Is your entire LAN IP Range in your trusted hosts group?
