Hi,

I am new to kerio, which i recently purchased. I have a 2mb broadband connection. I have noticed recently only been getting speeds of 700kb. After some detective work I decided to disbale the firewall and lo and behold I got 2mb service. If I enable it goes back down to 700kb.

Can anyone please help. Thanks

That's pretty normal. Overhead from packet inspection, antivirus scanning, etc.

If your CPU is maxed out, look into a faster processor; that is a solution for some people.

I have never had this problem with any firewall before. I have an AMD 64 3000+ cpu, quite a fast one. It has to be a setting to do with Kerio

Speed losses of this type are common with WinRoute.

You can try disabling antivirus and HTTP/FTP policy rules. It helps somewhat.

We've also had reports of network cards that did not work well with WinRoute, but we've been unable to isolate which cards. Do you have a spare NIC of a different type? Try swapping it in. Make sure you try replacing both the cards (internal and WAN).

I have the same problem.
Kerio advises as minimal requirements:
- CPU Intel Pentium II or compatible; 300 MHz
- 128 MB RAM

That's very minimal, I think.
GLENHILL uses a 3000+, that's too much to run a firewall, I hope!!

What should be good hardware configuration to run KWF6?
(I am using 4 3COM Gigabit NIC's)
