hi,
we have 2 dsl connection on the same server. this server has winroute firewall and kerio mail server. we want to configure in such a way that smtp traffic and pop3 traffic should use dsl1 and rest all the services should use dsl 2. pls tell us how to configure it

dsl1 = for smtp, pop3
dsl2 = for nat, proxy and all the other services
lan =for local connection.
we have live smtp server.

Just create corresponding Traffic Policies in KWF and it should then work as you want...

Something like:

RULE 1
source: lan
destination: dsl1
services: smtp, pop3
translation: the appropriate NAT (or not)

RULE 2
source: lan
destination: dsl2
services: http, ftp, etc (whatever you want)
translation: the appropriate NAT (or not)

It's best to make sure rule 1 is above rule 2.

I am afraid that that is not possible on windows platform. Only one gateway is permitted. Winroute uses either one or of the DSL but cannot use both at the same time.

The only way to do this is with a hardware load balancing router. I have tried one and work fine.

Hi guys,
i agree. IMHO it's impossible with Kerio and Windows ONLY. The problem are the Windows routing tables.

I didn't know a way to explain the OS to route SMTP to host1 over Interface-1 and HTTP to host1 over Interface-2.

We had the same problem: we like'd to use an inexpensive ADSL Connection for surfing and downloading and the expensive SDSL for own www/smtp and so on.

At moment we have (ip) routing rules for "surfing only domains" over ADSL and the rest over SDSL. Try sending eMail to AOL over ADSL (dynamic IP) and you know what i mean Razz

A great enhancement would be....
if it would be possible to tell the "Kerio Proxy Server" to "Forward to Interface" instead of "Forward to parent proxy"

If the proxy is access the internet there has to be a rule like this to allow http access to the internet:

name: proxy http
source: firewall
dest: network connected to interface <specify interface>
service: http, https

If you specify a specific nat translations like this:
nat: translate to ip address of interface <specify interface>

traffic should be forwarded using the specific interface for the specified service (in this case http and https).

If you use the proxy you can deny direct internet access using a traffic rule and allow only access to the proxy from the lan.
