Hi Mat,

That's a tough one as one server's black list subscriptions may not be appropriate for another. It all depends on your users and your policies. Worse yet, everything is so dynamic that even when you have a good group of subscriptions in place you have to keep evaluating their effectiveness.

When building our list I like to utilize this web site:

http://openrbl.org/client/

Basically, I check the sending server addresses of samplings of known good and known junk mail with all the available blacklists to see how they respond. Gradually, you get a good picture of which BLs suit your needs. Then you make adjustments for spam rating additions, or all out blocking.

But, if you gotta have it, here's the list I am currently using:

cbl.abuseat.org : block
opm.blitzed.org : block
list.dsbl.org : block
dynablock.njabl.org : score + .5
combined.njabl.org : block
no-more-funn.moensted.dk : score + 2.3
dsn.rfc-ignorant.org : score + .2
dnsbl.sorbs.net : score + 2.2
bl.spamcop.net : score + 1.8
sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org : block
dnsbl-2.uceprotect.net : block

Cheers,
Lyle

What is your SPAM threshold score that you are using with these RBL's?

Good question. I'm embarrassed I left that out.

2.3

I consider our settings to be somewhat aggressive. I am curious to know what other KMS users are doing.

Cheers,
Lyle

We use a score of 4.0 - not too agressive.

Some excellent results can be obtained from the 'blackholes' lists. We use the following:

russia.blackholes.us +2.5
argentina.blackholes.us - block
brazil.blackholes.us - block
china.blackholes.us - block
korea.blackholes.us - block
nigeria.blackholes.us - block
rr.blackholes.us - +2.5
rogers.blackholes.us +3.0
wanadoo-fr.blackholes.us +3.0
comcast.blackholes.us - block
