We are testing with the winroute firewall. So far it works fine but when we test it with one of the ASP.net system.
It creates a strange problem. When we try to download a WORD DOC files that generated by the ASP.net scripts. It just stops at the "downloading" stage after clicking SAVE or OPEN and it can never successfully download it or even ends with an error. We don't have this problem on downloading DOC, PDF or other types of file at other site. Also, we can download it successfully after bypassing winroute firewall. We found that the web site consist of a strange path that is enclosed with "( )" like this --> http://www.xxx.com/abc/(sdfgseasdfas)/xyz/ijk.doc
Would it be the cause of this problem ? We can't make changes to the path as it is not our own developed system. Please advice. THX

I have exactly the same issue with downloading Excel files from a certain site. You get to choose where to save the file, but then it will keep on downloading nothing forever.

This is a problem since 6.2.0, in 6.1.4p1 and before this site worked just fine. I haven't submitted a ticket yet.

TIP: I worked arround the problem by creating a special traffic policy for this site with the protocol inspectors off. Then the download works ok.
