I was wondering if it's possible in webmail to disable the option wich makes a copy of each sent mail into "Sent Items" folder?
Any idea?

Are you using webmail or a mail client?

I don't think there is a setting in webmail, however, you could write a message rule.

In most mail clients (Outlook Express, etc) there is a setting to "Keep a copy of sent messages in the Sent Items folder". Just disable it. For OE, click on TOOLS > OPTIONS and select the SEND tab. Uncheck the first option.

i know about mail programs feature but i'm trying to do it in webmail.
Do you think it's possible also with rules(filter in webmail)?

You could create a rule that states:

1. Select conditions for your rule:
- where the from address contains (user<_at_>yourdomain.com)

2. Select actions for your rule:
- Discard the message (or move to Deleted Items)

I think the mail filters only apply to incoming e-mail.

--

I would forward your request to Kerio support. Look at the stickies section of the KMS forum for "So you have a feature request?" for the correct way to submit the request (and a fine example of someone who doesn't follow directions).

It's always a good idea to indicate the reason and value of the feature. For example, let's say you were to indicate a concern for excessive amounts of mail accumulating in the sent items folder as the reason for the request. Since there have already been requests for better server-based mailbox management rules/schedules (that cover more than just sent items), your request could then be added to the "request counter," thus increasing the chances of this feature appearing in a later version of KMS.

Cheers,
Lyle

I think so too.
I'll forward the request to Kerio support as you suggests.
Thank you all

PROBLEM

By default Outlook 2003 puts all of my Sent emails into the .PST folder 'Sent Items'.

How can I make it put them into my IMAP folder 'Sent Items' instead?

SOLUTION

In order to make this work you need to set up your Rules to work properly.

1. Go to the Rules and Alerts option in the Tools section of the menu bar in Outlook.

2. Choose the E-Mail Rules

3. Click on New Rule

4. Choose Start from a blank rule

5. Click on Check Messages after sending

6. Click on Next

7. Put a check mark in the second item: through the specified account

8. In the lower half of the box you will see:

Apply this rule after I send the message through the specified account, and on this machine only.

9. Click on the word Specified

10. A box will appear with a drop down list of the email accounts

11. Choose the IMAP account you created

12. Click OK

13. It will now show the account in the lower half of the box

14. Click on Next

15. The rules Wizard asks What do you want to do with the message?

16. Look at Step 1: Select Action(s)

17. Put a check mark in the box that says:

Move a copy of the specified folder

18. Now in the bottom half of the box you will see:

Move a copy to the specified folder

19. Again click on the word Specified

20. A new box will open with all of your email accounts and folders

21. Scroll down to the IMAP account that you have created, and click on the + sign

22. Click on the Sent folder

23. Click on Next

24. Click on Finish to indicate that rule is complete

25. Click on Apply then Ok to close the Rules Wizard

Now you can use Outlook 2003 for your IMAP folders properly.

If you have more than one IMAP account, repeat the Rules the same way.
You may also want to disable 'place copy of sent items in sent items folder
to avoid having a duplicate placed in the 'Sent Items' box of the 'Personal
Folders' .PST file.

Thanks for that explanation.

Is there any way to turn off archiving sent messages in the Kerio store "sent items" for one email account and not another?

To explain:

I have 2 email addresses: fred<_a.t_>domain1.com and fred<_a.t_>domain2.com. I am using KOC to connnect to fred<_a.t_>domain1.com, and connecting to fred<_a.t_>domain2.com using IMAP.

By default, all sent messages were being copied into the Kerio store "sent items" folder. I have now set up an IMAP rule so that messages sent using fred<_a.t_>domain2.com are being copied into an IMAP "sent items" folder under that account, but these messages are also being archived in the Kerio store "sent items" folder. If I turn off "copy sent items to "sent items" folder" in tools->options->email options, the fred<_a.t_>domain1.com messages will not get archived. Is there any way to turn this off just for the IMAP account but not for the KOC account?

TIA
