Dear all,
how to scan password protected archives( .zip, .rar files)?
in winroute, password protected zip files cannot be downloaded
from any http website. if i disable inbuilt Mcafee antivirus
then only i can able to download password protected archives.

But disable of inbuilt Mcafee antivirus for HTTP is not a solution.

So is there any permanent resolution for this issue ?

thanks.

Go to configuration / content filtering / Antivirus tab HTTP, FTP scanning. Select the radio button 'Allow the file to be transferred' in the pannel 'If a transferred file cannot be scanned (e.g. encrypted or corruptes file)'.

You cannot scan inside protedted files (they are, eh, protected Wink). So you can either disallow them, because they can't be scanned or you can allow them (through a setting), but then you might give virusses 'a way in'.
