We've noticed that some users have a #deleted folder in their outlook and we can't get rid of it. Does anyone know what that is?

This folder contains the deleted, deleted items...

When a user empties his Deleted Items, mails get stored in this folder for a limited ammount of time, so that the mail admin can still retrieve the messages in case the user accidently deleted a message and then accidently emptied the Deleted Items folder.

This is configurable in Admin Console | Domains | edit the domain | General tab.

Why this folder is showing up in outlook though, is another matter. I guess it shouldn't.

Client: Outlook 2003 SP2, Win XP Pro Sp2, KOC 6.1.4
Server: X Server OS X 10.3.9, KMS 6.1.4

For testing I activated '#deleted' and can see it in Outlook/KOC but can't see in Webmail. I guess too it shouldn't appear in Outlook.

First I would try to reindex the folder:

1) Stop the mailserver
2) Rename the index.fld in the root folder to index.bad
3) Delete the __kerio_mapi folder
4) Restart mailserver

If that fails - submit a ticket! http://support.kerio.com

Cheers,
Joshua

it's a bug.

We have had it too

I disabled the retention to stop this occurring as the folders would re-appear after deletion in the filesystem.
(They should not be visible)

Knowing how users are, we'll stick through this, until the bug is fixed. I have a ticket opened.
