Hi there,

i'm running a Kerio Mailserver 6.1.4 on an Xserver G5 under Mac OS X 10.4.6. The Server is running fineso far, but I have two different problems with Thunderbrid on Mac OS X:

1) When connecting to the server I sometimes get an error, the mailserver seems not to be an IMAP4-server

2) when connecting to the server via Thunderbird i get no error but Thunderbird does not sync the folders at the server. The Emails inside the inbox are shown correctly, but not my private folders. i allready tested the IMAPfulllisting option without success.

Any suggestions on my issue?

Thanks a lot
MacSEK

Are these folders that start with a tilde "~"? Apple Mail has the same issue.

No there is no folder starting with a tilde. There is just the Inbox with the Mails on the IMAP server, but all the other folders are completely missing / not shown.

No problems here with Thunderbird 1.5.4 and OS X. All IMAP folder show correctly. Have you tried 'subscribing' to the folders?

Yes i do, but without getting any folders for subscribing. Another wired thing is, that shortly after starting Thunderbird ther are some folders shown like Trash, Sent, Junk Email. After trying to connect to the server all these folders disapear and only the Inbox is left. No personal folders are shown. When trying to subscribe to folders there are also no folders shown.

is it possibel to see your thunderbrid configuration? Do you habe IMAPfulllisting set to 0 or 1?

Does this happen with all users on different machines? Have you tried creating a new profile in Thunderbird?

What authentication are you using?

IMAPFullListing 1

This setting displays contact folders as an IMAP folders. However, this feature is used only in Apple Mail client. If you don't have Apple Mail, enabling this feature does not make sense. It does nothing in Thinderbird.

The most important bits are:

Tools: Accounts:Server Settings:

server name: mail.domain.com
user: user_name
port: 993

Security settings
Use secure connection (SSL)
Make sure 'use secure authentication' is NOT checked.

If you aren't using a secure connection, then you need to check 'never' and the port will be 143.

We have no problem with mail.app either with the same settings.

Have you tried 'user_name<_at_>domain.com'
What do the debug logs say when you try and make a connection?

using name<_at_>server.com does not change anything.
the error- and the debug-log does not habe andy entry considerung the problem or even the time range in which the connection takes place.

Do you have IMAP service logging turned on in the debug log? A connection will look like this:
