Hi,

I've set up my mail server to be used as a POP/SMTP server, the POP side works great with messages being held centrally, and downloaded onto the clients as required. The SMTP side however only stores the sent messages on the local clients and not on the server, I am trying to find out how to get the sent messages stored centrally so that they can be accessed by the server or via the webmail.

Thanks

Bryan

You can't do this, POP3/SMTP emailing is not designed for this. Use IMAP instead. IMAP was designed for emailing with centralised email storage.

Sure. Personal folders are 'local' and IMAP is on the server, so they don't mix. Anyways, it's not wise to use Outlook for IMAP, it's about the worst IMAP client imaginable. Even Outlook Express is way better for IMAP.

I think what you want may not be possible at all. You can’t have local and server-side storage. Basically, POP3’s ‘leave mail on server’ as kind of n after thought. POP3 was not originally meant for this. SMTP never got such an ‘upgrade’, so sent mail will always stay local when using SMTP.
