Has anyone found a serious solution how to integrate kerio web mail into a browser based enterprise portal which is operated using j2ee security and ldap directory using form based login to sigle sign on different applications? NTLM is not an option in this context.

Is building a server based http client which authenticates against kerio and secretly stores the user credentials the only option?

Would this help? http://support.kerio.com/kb/356 (see Fully automatic login).

The fully automated login helps to build a single sign on workaround, however session handling will probably become its ugly face and somehow the userpassword needs to be remembered by the portal session so it can relogin the user at any time. Shared Security Context (Shared Session) or Trust Association would be preferred. The most trivial solution could be that kerio mail server does not check the users credentials to build a session if the request is coming through the portal and grabs the users identity from the request headers. Has anyone tried something like that before?
