We're using Mac Entourage 2004 (11.2.5) to connect to our KMS server (6.2.2). When a user clicks on a Contacts folder (located on KMS in 'Public Folders > All Public Folders') containing about 2000 contacts, the initial sync takes about 2 hours. Subsequent syncs just take 10-20 seconds.

These syncs are over a private LAN, where the server and client are connected via Gbit ethernet, with no firewall in between.

Does anyone else have this slow sync problem?

This is because Entourage does not cache public folders locally by default. This is a limitation of Entourage and not KMS.

We have provided a KB article that describes how you can work around this limitation:

Just tried setting up a fresh user, adding the contact folder to their favorites (as above), then (and only then) syncing, and I still have same problem.

Perhaps the technote you mention is a fix for a different problem?

Kerio_ktrumbull:

Just wondering if you read my reply: my problem doesn't seem relevant to the tech note you linked to. Can you elaborate?
