I am wondering if the PPTP Protocol Inspector is required to map PPTP to my Win2003 Remote Access Server? I have been troubleshooting a peculiar problem with people not being able to connect to our VPN at work who have v5 or v6 Linksys WRT54G routers. I took off the PPTP Protocol Inspector for the PPTP services item, and then noticed I couldn't VPN in at all. The 'filter' in Winroute Firewall was saying protocol:47 packets were being dropped. Once I added the PPTP Protocol Inspector back, everything was fine. Why is this?
